Program Description

The Pre-Law minor is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for law school, the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), and careers requiring strong analytical and communication skills. Drawing on coursework in political science, public management, philosophy, and related disciplines, the minor develops students' abilities in critical thinking, logical reasoning, argumentation, research, and written communication. Students examine legal institutions, public policy, ethical reasoning, and the principles underlying constitutional and statutory interpretation. The minor complements a wide range of majors and provides valuable preparation for graduate and professional study in law and public policy, as well as careers in government, public administration, business, compliance, advocacy, and nonprofit organizations.
