Course Description
Prerequisite: SW 2110 or permission of instructor
A hands-on experience in leading groups for people who are faced with the need for rehabilitation, skills-training, and emotional development based on social work methods. Exploration of the ways in which people behave in groups, think about groups, and achieve life satisfaction through participating in a group. Investigation of the different group leader styles appropriate for oppressed groups such as
women, gays and lesbians, people of color, and the mentally ill.
